Pair taking 'Sanctuary' - Duo buys Susco script
By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK | VARIETY | 9/19/06 Lionsgate and Sobini Films have bought scribe Stephen Susco's spec script "Sanctuary," based on John Connolly tome "Bad Men." Supernatural thriller revolves around a mysterious woman who takes refuge on a haunted island off the Maine coast. Mark Amin's Sobini Films has a first-look deal with Lionsgate. Producers of "Sanctuary" are Mark Amin and Alison Rosenzweig. Susco and Michael Gaeta will exec produce. Susco, who penned "The Grudge" and the soon-to-bow "The Grudge 2," also penned Circle of Confusion's "Red," set to start lensing next month. Sobini most recently produced "Peaceful Warrior," which Lionsgate released in June. Company's upcoming slate includes romantic comedy "Speechless" and psychological thriller "Prey." |
